High Purity Deionized Water

Columbus Chemical Industries produces high purity Deionized Water  (DI Water) for the semiconductor, biotech, pharmaceutical and analytical lab industries from our production facilities in Phoenix, AZ and Columbus, WI.  This high purity DI water is also used in custom chemical blends and dilutions at each facility.

Deionized Water Production

At both our chemical facility in Phoenix, AZ and our facility in Columbus, WI the DI water is regularly >17.5 megohm in conductivity.Resistivity Conductivity Chart

We maintain high purity DI water by polishing pre-softened water. The water first passes through four resin beds and two polishing columns that remove positively charged ions and negatively charged anions.  This process results in DI water with sub parts per billion (ppb) metals. The DI water is sterilized by undergoing UV light treatment, breaking down any bacterial content in the water.  The polished and sterilized water then goes through our Reverse Osmosis membrane and is finally passed through a 0.1 micron filter. This system allows both facilities to maintain a high standard of DI water for distribution and use in high purity chemical dilutions and blends.

The water is monitored for quality daily, with additional in-depth testing performed on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
