Congressman Glenn Grothman Visits CCI

August 31, 2018

August 29 2018:   Columbus, WI

In a tour of Columbus Chemical Industries (CCI) facilities this week, Rep. Glenn Grothman expressed his appreciation for manufacturing companies like CCI being the backbone of the US economy.   In his address to the CCI Team in Columbus, WI he shared his background of growing up in Wisconsin, a state known for its cheese, beer, brats and hard-working people. When you are around it day-in day-out, it becomes easy to perceive the manufacturing environment of Wisconsin as normal, however it is anything but! Wisconsin ranks #2 in the nation for manufacturing jobs per capita, just behind Indiana.

CCI President Randy Eppli expressed concern for finding qualified candidates to fill critical skilled based jobs in the company.  Rep. Grothman, who is the twice elected representative for the 6th District of Wisconsin, stated that he is a strong supporter of continuing education in all areas but in particular skills based education in technical colleges and trade schools to prepare our young people for jobs in manufacturing and other skilled positions.

As a specialty chemical company, CCI provides high purity chemistry and customized solutions for it clients ranging from semiconductor & pharmaceutical to industrial & laboratory markets.  Eppli expressed his appreciation to Rep. Grothman for his support of the TSCA (Toxic Substance Control Act) in 2017 and for his willingness to support the re-authorization of the CFATS (Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standard) expected to be on the House of Representatives floor later this year.
