Columbus Chemical Industries, Inc. traces its roots to the mid 1960’s when
brothers Richard, Edward and Thomas Sheard packaged and sold laboratory
chemicals from a printed catalog while still in high school. Their mother,
Margaret Bache Sheard, was actively involved as business advisor and remains active
even today. Edward and Thomas pursued other activities while Richard
remained devoted to directing and growing the family business.
A view of today’s Columbus Chemical Industries would bear
little resemblance to its meager beginnings. 57 employees in Columbus,
Wisconsin and 7 in Phoenix, Arizona now work to exceed customer needs and become
their first-choice provider of high purity and ultra-high purity chemical
products.
Columbus Chemical Industries serves diverse markets such as
pharmaceutical manufacturing, semi-conductor and electronics manufacturing, the
high performance battery markets, science education and the analytical
laboratory markets. Common products include high purity acids and salts,
analytical and production solutions/blends as well as custom, private-label
packaging.
